Trip to Saputara
by Rahul Singh on Feb.20, 2012, under Life Experiences
My first visit to Gujarat (not counting the Railway Station halts
). It is considered a hill station, but I did not find it to be even 20 % of it. Anyways it is a peaceful location and had a nice time there.
Not being a morning guy, it was tough for me to wake at 6 AM and head for the trip at 7 AM with other office colleagues. I happen to be the most young among them but I managed to not get bored and make most of the trip. Mumbai – Nashik – Saputara roads are awesome and we reached there at 2PM. The view from the resort was gorgeous :

Here is the Office team sitting on the roof as they arrived:

And to add the awesomeness, we had a delicious lunch from that Hill View..

After lunch and a power nap we headed for the main tourist attarction there : horse, camel, bike riding and then the Sunset point, which was quite crowded and we missed that and we were standing in the quese while sunset was happening. Anyways the night view from the hanging trolley was quite awesome. And then we ended the day with again delicious dinner.
In morning we headed for other tourist attactions in the nearby – Honey Bee Farming, Boating (in lake there) and then Saputara Museum. The museum happens to be the worst one I have ever seen. Follwed by little shopping of Dry fruits and strawberries. Strawberries happen to be quite famous there.
Just have a look. They cost Rs 70/kg.

I have not been a fan of strawberry favors, infant I hate them. But, I liked the fruit.
Saputara will fail to impress you if you compare with hill station of North, it does not stand anywhere it. It is a good stress buster for long drives and some peaceful time for family people. Not adventurous to be precise. I am not looking forward to go there gain.
While returning, we had a small halt in Nashik, a birthday celebration followed by lunch and then we returned back to Mumbai..
